Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product! We started our puppy on Iams® ProActive Health™ Smart Puppy Large Breed at 5 weeks old. She is now 8 months old and our vet says she is a picture of health. She is a lab mix and is currently about 60lbs, full of energy and is incredibly smart. She has taken vary well to training. She enjoys her food so much that she gets excited as soon as you touch her bowl. We often use a handful for for quick home training sessions. Her black coat is so smooth and shiny that it's challenging to take a clear picture of her. We're very pleased with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Our precious Emmie LOVES this food! Our new puppy was found stranded out on the East Side of San Antonio. She was in generally good health but when we got her she needed some good food and her coat was dry and very dull. After just a week on this food, she began to shine. We tried another brand before this one and she did not like it that much. As soon as we began feeding her this, she just gobbled it up and she still does at each meal time. Her fur is just beautiful and she will grow into a gorgeous dog! She was already very smart but this food seems to make her more alert and full of energy. Her first vet appointment went very well and she got all A's! She is half Border Collie and half Black Lab and is just brilliant! We will keep her on Iams forever. Thank you for such a great product that is priced to meet my very tight budget!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great puppy food at reasonable price!! My puppy has been eating IAMS since she was 8 weeks old and now she is 22 weeks and doing great with this food! Her coat is very shiny and she's very active. After doing some research I've found that IAMS is an affordable good quality puppy food. If you're on a budget and want a good quality dog food I'd highly suggest IAMS smart puppy brand food!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It helps my dog a lot! I bought this food 2 weeks ago and my 12 week old Catahoula loves it! Her coat is shiny, she has regular bowel movements, and of course plenty of energy. She was always so tired and didn’t want to do anything before. Now, she is full of energy and loves playing. I would definitely recommend this. Thanks!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Highly Recommended Our vet recommended this food over the other "pricier" options for our new Great Dane puppy. She LOVES the food and is always eager to eat. My Shih-Tzu has also taken to the food and loves it more than his regular food so we have swapped him to Iams as well. I was most concerned about our GD growing too fast (I've been told that if they grow too fast, which they will do on regular puppy food, that it will hurt them) and so far, 12 weeks in to using Iams, she is right on track according to our vet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good product We adopted littermates, Labs- one black female named Roxy and one chocolate male named Marley.. They are approximately 5 months old and they are growing like weeds! We have had them on Iams Proactive Health Smart Puppy Large Breed formula for the past three months after our Vet recommended it due to their rapid growth. He said that the large breed formula would help to slow their rate of growth in order to allow for stronger bones and healthier joints. We have seen such an improvement in their overall health and coat. They are also extremely intelligent and happy pups. They seem to genuinely enjoy their feedings and look forward to their meals. Thank you Iams for such an awesome product! I know that I am doing everything I can to insure a long health life for our pets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Large Breed Puppies I was delighted to see the large breed consideration. I obviously cannot expect my Doberman/Newfoundland mix to have the same eating needs as a Beagle or other smaller dog. My puppy is growing beatifully. Strong bones, supple muscles, and Shiney soft coat. She is beautiful and healthy. thank you Iams.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for large breed puppy growth It's so important for large breed puppies to get the right nutrition for their fasting growing body. I appreciate the large bag of food available. I have to travel an hour away or order online but it's worth it. My German Shepherd/ Husky mix puppy has a great coat, bowels, and a smile to prove how happy he looks and feels.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Food! I would surely recommend this to anyone with a large breed puppy. I bought my rottweiler generic brands at our local stores but he became really skinny even with eating a lot. I switched him right away to Iams Smart Puppy and he is perfect in size and weight. His coat is super shiny and he is developing at a awesome pace!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PICKY PUPPIES FAVORITE I swear we have probably tried every brand or variety of dry dog food that there is. Ever since our Lil' Lucy was just a baby Boxer, she has always been a pretty picky eater, or at the least becomes easily bored with her food. I am sure that part of the reason is due to her being so ill when we got her. From about the time she was 10 weeks old until she was 13-14 weeks, we had to feed her with a monojet (needle-less syringe) full of liquid puppy food & vitamins literally every hour. She had double pneumonia, and with how fast her lungs had filled with water, her Vet told me straight out that her odds of surviving this was unlikely. Now he did say it in nicer words, or try to, because there is no way to sugar coat something like that. But between her strong will and our love, we fought her back to health. THANK GOD.... But it seems like the feeding battle has never really seemed to end. Even with mixing in things like chicken and other types of meats Lucy would still not eat. At least not consistently or thoroughly, which meant that we would end up wasting the majority of it. Not to mention how irregular her bowel movements where from the constant changes to her diet. So our search continued, trying to find a food appealing to our growing puppy, but also one that our non-growing pocket could afford. The consideration of just wet food was something we where starting to think might be our only option. Though we had really hoped to eventually have her on a wholly dry food diet, for our sake and for hers. So when we where able to buy Iams Proactive Smart Puppy Large Breed a second time, and then a third time, we knew we may actually have a fighting chance at the dry food idea. Now many more bags of it later, we are now successfully mixing in adult food. Which is Perfect, considering her 2nd Birthday is right around the corner, which will make our Boxer a puppy no more... Other than in our eyes and heart... So we say Thank You to Iams, for our little girls health and helping keep our sanity in the matter... Sincerely The Widowski Family, Rob, Crystal, Alyssa, Mia & Lucy Widowski

Rated 3 out of 5 by from disappointed I have been feeding my two weims large breed puppy since they were born. A perfect food for them and rather cost effective. But, Iams has really disappointed me. I cannot get my dogs the food they are used to and they are simply posting signs which say TRY ONE OF OUR OTHER FOODS. Come on. I'm not gonna feed my puppys a adult food because they screwed up and are not currently producing my dogs food. Pretty disappointed and think Iams should make it right with dedicated Iams customers. (this close to switching to purina pro plan)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great puppy kibble! This is the feed the breeder that I purchased my lab pup, Brady, already had the litter started on when I got him. I had never fed Iams before and was skeptical...well I am no longer a skeptic! This is by far the best puppy kibble that I have ever fed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love Iams My vet is the one that recommended we feed our puppy Iams. We use Iams Large Breed Puppy because Iams takes into consideration the fast growth of this large breed. My puppy loves the taste of Iams. The vet is very happy with how his weight is and how he is growing. I believe it's because of the good quality dog food that he is eating. I won't use anything but Iams!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for my baby Like most commercial brands, this is loaded with corn, by-products, and preservatives. The chicken is terrible quality too. Where are the fruits, and vegetables? Most decent brands have peas, blueberries, and raspberries. Spend the extra money on a real food for your real puppy. This is corn with meat flavor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for big dogs Smart Puppy Large breed formula was recommended to us by our vet. however, I was a little taken back by the price of the food but still bought it. Our dog eats it ok but there is no flavor choice- it is what it is.Her growth is slowing some but I really hope it does help with the joint problems that "big" breeds are known for.
