Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too much corn and by-products Although my giant breed puppy seems to like this dry food and the recommended serving sizes are half that of the Smartblend dry food we previously used, I can't see myself sticking to this formula based on the extremely high amounts of corn and corn derivatives and chicken by-products. Also the fat % is too high in this formula. It shouldn't be more than 9% for giant breeds and this one is 14%. What would be the explanation for such a high amount of corn and by-products? What nutritional benefit could this provide? Dogs have never eaten corn in their natural diet. Ever. Not even a little bit. Modern science is proving that corn should never be in a dogs diet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Puppy Loving Fun I have a 6 month old lab / pitbull mix. Beatiful little thing! Been feeding her purina one healthy puppy. The last two months have been really bad with it. Unknown to us the food is too soft and was getting moldy at the pet store. Even the 13 year old sheperd lab i have that will eat anything wouldnt touch it. Poor little pup kept getting sick, wasnt growing fast. 2 weeks ago we started switching her off her special diet of boiled chicken and rice. We started Iams Smart Puppy. Withing 2 days we noticed the difference in her livelyhood. She is back to normal running like crazy, barking at everything, jumping, and wrestling with the aheperd lab. Thanks Iams!!!! This pup got me out of a major depression. Iams brought my baby back to life! It brought me back to life! Will never use another brand again!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The only food we feed our puppy We got our Rottweiler puppy when she was only 8 weeks old. The breeder weened the puppies on Iams so we kept her on it. Everyone comments on how beautiful her coat is. She has been gaining 10 lbs per month. I took her to the vet today, she gained 11 1/2 lbs since last month and she's not even 5 months old yet! We feed her the amount recommended on the package and no more. A beautiful coat, bright eyes, beautiful white teeth and 51 1/2 pounds tells me that this is the best for my puppy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for Rottweilers I started both of my pups on Iams smart puppy since I have a persian that will not eat any other food. My Rottie pups are gorgeous, have silky smooth coats and never have tummy aches. I highly recommend this food for any dog that is going to be large.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT FOR YOUR PUPPY My female German Shepherd has been on this food for about 2 1/2 months and I can see a change in her growth. She has a very sensitive stomach and this food didn't upset. She tends to be very picky with her food and grows tired of it after about 5 weeks, but she has stuck to this IAMS large breed a bit longer! I don't think she'll get sick of this food, you can tell she enjoys it! Thank you IAMS for helping my pup and I!
